Bluff

Write a convincing fake answer, then pick the real one out of the lineup.

What Bluff is

Bluff is a bluffing game. The host poses a question with one true answer that almost nobody knows. Each team writes a fake answer designed to look real.

All the fakes are shuffled in with the genuine answer and shown as a lineup. Every team votes for the one they think is real. You score for finding the truth and for tricking other teams into picking your fake.

How a round plays out

First, the writing phase: your team submits a made-up answer to the question. It can't be the same as the real answer, and you can't vote for your own fake later.

Next, the voting phase: the real answer and every fake appear as a labeled lineup. Each team votes for the answer they believe is genuine.

Finally, the reveal: the true answer is shown, points are tallied, and you see exactly which teams fell for which fake.

Scoring

Spotting the real answer 20 pts Each team your fake fools 10 pts

Host setup options

OptionWhat it controls
Points for spotting the real answer Default: 20 (range 0 to 20)
What a team earns for voting for the genuine answer.
Set the slider in the Game Designer and the round launches with it; you can still adjust at launch. Ad-hoc rounds without a designer config start at 2.
Points per team fooled Default: 10 (range 0 to 20)
What the author of a fake earns for each team that votes for it.
Set the slider in the Game Designer and the round launches with it; ad-hoc rounds start at 1. A convincing fake that fools several teams can out-score knowing the answer.
Content filter Default: casual
Screen submitted fakes for inappropriate content.
Casual blocks the clearly out-of-line stuff; corporate holds fakes to a work-event standard; none lets everything through. Set on the session at launch.

🏆 Glory Points

Bluff points decide the round, but they're separate from Glory Points (GP), the season-long score that ranks you across every game mode.

Bluff is a round inside a trivia game, so it doesn't pay GP on its own. Your result rolls into your game score, and GP is awarded once when the whole game finishes. See the Glory Points guide for the full breakdown.

Strategy & tips

Make your fake plausible, not silly. A believable answer fools more teams, and every team it fools pays you.

Match the style of a real answer. If the genuine answer is a short name or a date, write a fake that looks like one too.

When you truly have no idea which answer is real, a great fake can still win you the question on fool points alone.

Fairness & the fine print

Scoring is per team. You earn points for voting for the real answer, and the author of a fake earns points for every team that votes for it.

You can't vote for your own fake, and you can't submit a fake that's identical to the real answer.

Unless the content filter is set to none, an off-color fake is rejected outright or held for the host to review before the voting lineup goes out.

Bluff runs on phones, with a hybrid option where the host types in fakes that teams wrote on paper. There's no fully paper-only version.
